PROJECT OVERVIEW
Being UNA a consortium of Italian non-governmental organisations, it has allowed our partners to be active in a number of sectors.
To some extent, UNA acts as a multi-functional organisation which can rely on a professional and specialised staff with different expertise. Moreover, UNA can take advantage of a flexible and diverse experience gained in different countries and from different projects.
Our core sectors of intervention:
- Urban Development/Solid Waste Management: where we especially focus on urban planning, solid waste management, capacity building and infrastructures
- Agriculture/Food security: UNA has been committed to improve the farming sector in the last decades, principally promoting IPM techniques, best farming practices, and sustainable development
- Water and Sanitation sector: full fledge experience in both urban and rural projects
- Mental Health: establishing mental wards in hospital, providing training, working with the most vulnerable people (children, women, IDPs)
- Livestock: training capacity building, infrastructures, marketing
Thus, UNA is also active in the following sectors:
- Environment: afforestation and environmental awareness
- Education: rehabilitation of schools, capacity building teachers training
- Child Protection: fostering child rights through capacity building and providing assistance to thus more in need.
