UNA was established in 1995 with the ambitious aim of unifying the plurality of stories and outcomes achieved by its members within the international development cooperation field. Initially, five organisations with different backgrounds, heterogeneous expertise and diversified experiences decided to merge their efforts with the intent of bringing forward the Italian cooperation and international aid.
Considering the stable presence of some of its members in the Eastern Africa and the positive achievements obtained in that region, UNA decided to set up its regional office in Nairobi, Kenya, where UNA registered (9th December 1995), and started its project-related activities.
Since its establishment, many things have happened, and many people have collaborated, contributing to the development of our organisation with their experiences and visions.
Nowadays, we have in place several partnership agreements with organisations/institutions as well as good working relationships with donors, which share our view and core values.
UNA in actually involved in Kenya, Somalia, South-Sudan, and Tanzania regardless the political harshness and operational constraints, implementing projects and strengthening partnerships with the local communities.
